Valentine’s Day, also known as Saint Valentine’s Day, is a day that every couple waits for every year around the globe. People around the globe wait for the 14th of February and look forward to spending that day with their special loved one. It’s a day when one shows his or her affection and love to their better half through the form of gifts and going out for a candle lit dinner. There are many different ways of showing your love to one another be it through gifts, dates, a gesture, promises and what not. The celebration of this worldwide renowned day started from the west side of the world and slowly and slowly made its way into the east and is now celebrated in India as a very romantic day. It is so important that couples usually count is as an important “date” as if it were an anniversary or a birthday. You do not want to forget this date like you forgot your better half’s birthday.
In India youngsters as young as 12 years old give gifts and cards from gift shops to their crushes and hope that they will accept their token of love and probably do the same in return. Some people gift stuff toys and the most famous one of those are teddy bears of course of different sizes and colors. Some people choose to go with the classic flower of love or red roses as you may call them with chocolates. Writing poetry and sending them in small bottles, singing love songs, going for a long romantic drive are more things that people do. This day is so special that people even get down on one knee to propose to each other with a ring in their champagne glasses. Something about that day brings out the romantic in everyone to the surface.
